Programs for Newcomers @ Your Library
Oakville Public Library offers many programs for newcomers to Canada. OPL works with the Halton Multicultural Council, Centre for Skills Development & Training, and Newcomer Information Centre to bring programs for newcomers to our branches. Topics covered include preparing for the Canadian citizenship test, career building, immigration, ESL, computer classes and more. A settlement worker from the Halton Multicultural Council is available in the library to meet with newcomers. Information about immigration, employment, citizenship and education is provided to help you settle in your new community.
