2012 Grand Battle Winners Announced!

We have two new winners from Grand Battle held on Wednesday, April 25.

The winning Junior team was Abbey Lane Public School. Our thanks to the St. Vincent Catholic School for participating in a very close game.

The winning Senior team was St. Vincent Catholic School. Thanks goes to the St. Mathew Catholic School Senior team for a very well played game.

Congratulations to all the school teams participating in Battle this year. What winners you all are! We’ll see you next at the Regional Battle of the Books to be held at the Centre for the Arts in Milton on May 10, 2012. Keep Reading!

2012 Grand Battle Finalists Announced

After 4 days of battling at the Central Library, we have the 2 top junior teams and 2 top senior teams who will be competing in the Grand Battle.

The two junior teams with the highest scores are St. Vincent and Abbey Lane.

The 2 senior teams with the highest scores are St. Vincent and St Mathew.

They will play in the Grand Battle on Wednesday April 25, at 7 pm in the Central Library Auditorium.

Congratulations to all participants who joined us this past week. We hope you had a great day, learned about new books and enjoyed meeting the authors and hearing about their experiences.

Thank you to all teachers, coaches and parents who worked so hard to prepare their students for the battle. Once again, you proved that Oakville kids love to read!
