I Hear Words
Phonological Awareness is playing with words and sounds through singing and rhymes. This skill will help children to sound out words on their own.
- Sing songs! Songs break words into smaller bits so children can hear the different sounds in words.
- Say or sing nursery rhymes. Play with the sound of the words.
- Talk together about words that rhyme: cat and hat; do dog and cat rhyme?
