Responsibility For Selection

Purpose and Scope

This policy defines the responsibility for the selection of library materials. It applies to all types of library materials including print, audiovisual and electronic resources.

Policy

The selection of materials for the Oakville Public Library collection is delegated to the Chief Executive Officer, who may further delegate this function to members of the staff who are qualified by reason of education or training. The Library Board is deemed to have approved all library materials so selected.
