TD Canadian Children's Book Week - Contest Rules and Regulations
This contest is being conducted by The Oakville Public Library (the "Sponsor"). The contest begins Friday, May 4, 2012 and closes with online entries submitted on or before 11:59 pm EST on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
How To Enter
To be eligible participants, all entrants must cast a vote for a TD Canadian Children's Book Week title through the Sponsor's website. All entrants must be between the ages of 3 and 14 and be residents of the Town of Oakville. Staff, board members and volunteers of the Oakville Public Library not eligible to enter. All information obtained for this contest will be used only for the purposes of conducting the contest.
Prize
Three (3) prizes will be made available, one for each of the following categories: Picture Books, Junior Fiction and Young Adult Fiction. Each has an approximate value of $100.
The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole option, and for any reason, to substitute the prize (or any part of the prize) with another prize of equal or greater value. Prize must be accepted as awarded, and no cash value will be given for the prize. In the event the winner is unable to accept the prize, that person will forfeit the prize in its entirety and another winner will be selected.
Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries received.
Draw
A random draw will be made by a representative of the Oakville Public Library at the Central branch from all eligible entries received by the contest closing date.
The winner will be notified by email. In the event that the selected entrant cannot be contacted, after two (2) attempts within seven (7) days of prize notification sent by email, the Oakville Public Library reserves the right to randomly select another entrant from the eligible entries received.
In order to win, the selected entrant may be required to sign a release form, which among other things, releases Sponsor from all liability. If the selected entrant is under the age of majority, his/her parent or legal guardian must sign the release form accept prize on the selected entrant's behalf. None of the Sponsor's employees or affiliates (including its directors, employees, agents or representatives) shall bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributed to the prize awarded in the contest. By accepting the prize, the winner, or the parent or legal guardian if a minor, agrees to the use of the winner's name, city of residence, photograph and/or other likeness in any related publicity, including presence on Sponsor's website, without further compensation or permission.
General Rules
All entries become the property of the Sponsor, which assumes no responsibility for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsors on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion.
Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion to cancel or suspend this contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.
By entering, contestants agree to abide by the contest rules and decisions of the contest judging organization, which shall be final.
